Family and legacy underpinned by sustainably produced small wine parcels.
Focusing on small batches of handcrafted wines Elbourne are focused on sustainability and ethical practices and these are clearly displayed when you site on their deck for a tasting. The whole family partakes even the kids have a small stall at home where they sell their eggs and home grown veges!
Each year around January/February, they hold a picking ‘luncheon’, where family, friends, members & anyone else who happens to be nearby, help to hand pick the fruit. As the legend of the long lunch that follows continues to grow, the picking seems to be getting a little easier. As they say, many hands make light work!
The flagship red is the “H.A.E” single vineyard Shiraz. Grown on their home block of only 4 acres & is named after their son Hugo Arthur Elbourne. The vines are nearing 40 years of age & everything is handcrafted in the vineyard - including picking & pruning - to ensure the highest quality fruit possible each vintage.
Adam and Chris Elbourne believe in regenerative farming and focus all their efforts on sustainability. They try to work with like minded individuals in the Hunter Valley to produce premium Hunter Valley grown wines. A true family business where everyone contributes and their true passion shines through in every wine.
It is no wonder Elbourne have won so many awards and accolades, a regular Halliday award winner and with a selection of their wines being offered in many local fine dining restaurants such as Muse and Goldfish their reputation is growing fast.
These Hunter Valley single vineyard blocks are meticulously cared for by expert viticulturist Neil Stevens & the grapes are all hand picked to ensure fruit of the highest quality year on year. Add to this the expertise & guidance of highly regarded contract winemaker Nick Paterson (Chateau Pato), and all the ingredients are there for an exceptional example of single vineyard Hunter Valley wines....
Our boutique wines are truly representative of the season with no fruit or juice added to our annual crop, which is something we truly pride ourselves on here at Elbourne Wines.....
For every case of wine sold they sow a new plant and they are a pet friendly winery
