New South Wales - Mudgee

This is called a nest. The beautiful, soft and friendly nature of the Mudgee countryside is formed by the outer rim of the hills.

The surrounding small hills create a mini vista panorama. It also means Mudgee has some of Australia's highest altitude vineyards. Mudgee claims a long history of winemaking, but has a modest wine-growing profile. Its discreet approach leads to delightful discoveries as you stroll through its glorious landscapes.

THE CLIMATE

At altitudes ranging from 450 m to 1100 m above sea level, our climate is diverse and capable of producing a wide variety of nuances. Spring frosts and cold nights delay bud flowering, while rain and humidity are typical of inland wine-growing regions.

A well-structured combination of rich and fertile soil suitable for sustaining agricultural growth. Volcanic soils and sandy loam are above the loamy subsoil. Nutrient retention coupled with good drainage is paramount to high quality grape production.
