Castelli Estate wines are produced in an idyllic setting on Mount Shadforth in Denmark. The Castelli family’s winemaking philosophy is simple; the best fruit from the southern regions of Western Australia, handcrafting wines of individuality and character. There is a fair bit of country to cover in search of the best fruit, but when that hard work pays off in the bottle, the memory of the miles traveled quickly fades.

Heritage
The Castelli name is steeped in Italian heritage
Beginning back in the quaint country village of San Giorgio a Liri, in Italy’s Lazio region – the birthplace of the Castelli family. Predominantly a farming village, Sam grew up in a time and place where everything was grown off the land, and food and wine were local, handmade and bursting with flavour and tradition. In Italy, wines are made to share and enjoy. In Italy, a glass is savoured with every meal and a bottle is taken to every occasion.
Winemaker
Andrew Vesey
Andrew's father was a wine rep, so it was inevitable that an interest in wine would develop. The interest wouldn't be on the retail side but on the farming and production side of the industry. Upon graduating, Andrew developed his skills across famous winemaking regions in France, Portugal, Italy and New Zealand. With over 20 years' experience in the industry, his creativity and love for all facets of winemaking and viticulture remain stronger than ever.

Empirica Uno Cabernet Sauvingnon
The purity of Cabernet fruit expression shines through with the Shiraz bringing an earthy spiciness and mid-palate richness, with its plush tannins playing a supportive role to the layered Cabernet backbone. The Malbec from this year was particularly good, providing a tannin and colour boost; helping to accentuate the vibrant varietal characters.
