Elbourne Wines

Small batch, handpicked estate grown using traditional winemaking practices

Family, legacy & the environment

Focusing on small batches of handcrafted wines Elbourne is focused on sustainability and ethical practices and these are clearly displayed when you sit on their deck for a tasting. The whole family partakes even the kids have a small stall at home where they sell their eggs and homegrown veggies!

Each year around January/February, they hold a picking ‘luncheon’, where family, friends, members & anyone else who happens to be nearby, help to hand pick the fruit. As the legend of the long lunch that follows continues to grow, the picking seems to be getting a little easier. As they say, many hands make light work!

The Vineyards

Their Hunter Valley single vineyard blocks are meticulously cared for by expert viticulturist Neil Stevens & the grapes are all hand-picked to ensure the fruit of the highest quality year after year. The ingredients are there for exceptional examples of single vineyard Hunter Valley wine.

These boutique wines are truly representative of the season with no fruit or juice added to the annual crop, which is something they truly pride themselves on at Elbourne Wines.

Community

For every case of wine sold they sow a new plant and they are a pet-friendly winery. Each year around January/February, they hold a picking ‘luncheon’, where family, friends, members & anyone else who happens to be nearby, help to hand pick the fruit. As the legend of the long lunch that follows continues to grow, the picking seems to be getting a little easier. As they say, many hands make light work!

“Our veggie patch, orchard and garden are my passion. The kids and I love harvesting the food. We grow most of our own food even including meat. We want our kids to know where good food comes from, that there are seasons for different types of food even more importantly. Plus we want our kids to be independent and capable in knowing how to harvest and cook the food.”
