Victoria - Yarra Valley

The Yarra Valley, Victoria's oldest wine region, saw the planting of its first vines in 1838.

Despite the fact that plantings continued until the middle to the end of the 1800s, the Yarra Valley stopped producing wine by the end of 1921 due to the growing popularity of fortified wines.

When vines were planted at the Wantirna Winery in 1963, winemaking resumed. Mount Mary, Yarra Yering, Warramate, Seville Estate, Chateau Yarrinha (now De Bortoli), Yarra Barn, and Morgan Vineyards were among the Valley's first founding wineries in the decade that followed. St. Hubert and Jellingburg, two of them, have been restored.
