Brokenchack Wines

What is Brockenchack all about?

  • We're a family endeavour, named after our four grandchildren; BROnte, MaCKENzie, CHArli and JaCK;
  • We're a cool climate, single vineyard wine producer in the Barossa's picturesque Eden Valley, crafting fourteen beautiful wines for our portfolio;
  • We produce wines that we think people will love to drink;
  • Our wines all have a story, either named after our family members or after something of significance to our family;
  • Our land has been a working vineyard for well over a century with our first Riesling vines planted in 1896, believed to be some of (if not) the oldest Riesling vines in Australia;
  • Our Shiraz vines with an average age of 60 years produce three tiers of Shiraz; Zip Line, Jack Harrison and our top tier William Frederick, as well as our Rosé and Sparkling Shiraz;
  • Along with our offering of hand crafted, boutique wines, we also offer a unique and memorable historic cellar door experience and three luxury vineyard bed and breakfast accommodation, surrounded with 360 degree views of our vineyard.

Silver Medal | 2022 International Wine Competition (IWC) | "Lovely notes of plums and herbaceous notes. Sage with silky tannins and good structure compliment the wine."

95 Points | Winepilot - Ken Gargett | "Dark maroon in colour, there is real depth of flavour here. Dark berries, animal skins, warm earth, hints of chocolate, black fruits and a smoky roast meat note. Black olives and cloves follow. Firm tannins are present, good balance and excellent length. This is cracking stuff and has at least a decade ahead of it. That said, no reason you can't enjoy it now." March 2022

95 Points | Winepilot - Angus Hughson | "I like the Brockenchack wines – honest and well made with plenty of personality and flavour, but I really loved this wine. It’s their best yet from where I sit! Bright deep crimson, it is a beautifully brooding and tightly knit Eden Valley Shiraz with a powerful aromatic core of blackberry, new leather and black olive fruits with peppery sage elements and well matched oak. Dry, fleshy and concentrated on the palate, there is an explosion of punchy fruit pastilles and liquorice while retaining its energy and freshness with moderate, fine tannins well integrated to provide a long, yet subtle finish. Superb Eden Valley Shiraz and great value." March 2022
