DOWIE DOOLE is a story of two terroirs and time. Our home McLaren Vale, South Australia, has unique, ancient terroirs that produce world-class wines that can proudly challenge the best in the world. DOWIE DOOLE’s Estate Vineyards are in two of McLaren Vale’s most prized terroirs; the sandy soils of Blewitt Springs and the ancient rocks of Tatachilla. With geology as old as 650M years, some of the oldest geology vines are grown anywhere in the world.Â

This blend of Grenache & Tempranillo is a McLaren Vale take on a traditional Spanish blend. It is a food friendly, versatile, medium bodied wine, crafted to be enjoyed as if you were sitting in a tapas bar in Spain. For this vintage a blend of 70% Grenache and 30% Tempranillo was chosen.
DOWIE DOOLE was established in 1995 by founders Norm Doole and Drew Dowie. Our team are committed to producing classic regional McLaren Vale Wines of the highest quality.

The Barossa Valley and McLaren Vale are home to some of the world's oldest grenache vines. With fruit-forward palates and long ageing potential, here are six of South Australia's best – add them to your list.
McLaren Vale has a warm and dry Mediterranean climate coupled with cooling breezes from the Mount Lofty Ranges and the Gulf St Vincent. With their differing elevations, vineyards' proximity to the mountains or ocean creates unique microclimates, offering great diversity in the regions' wines.Â
The Dowie Vineyard is on the cool sandy slopes of Blewitt Springs, the northernmost sub-region of McLaren Vale, and has some of the oldest vines.Â
The Doole Vineyard is on the ancient rocks of Tatachilla. 53 hectares of undulating and picturesque landscape, primarily planted to classic McLaren Vale varietals including Shiraz, Cabernet Sauvignon, and over 1965 planted bush vine Grenache.
The DOWIE DOOLE Tasting Pod was opened in Spring 2019. Four shipping containers have been placed in the vineyard and then fitted out to give a refined tasting experience in a raw environment.
A choice from three tasting flights provides an immersive experience of tasting wines throughout our portfolio, from the Estate Range through to our Reserve Range, and also cellar door exclusive wines.
A regional build you own platter is available, our staff can recommend other places to eat / restaurants should you require something more substantial.
