THE CLIMATE

The towns are located in the estuary's headwaters and along the coast. Due to the slow ripening and late harvest (April, May, and June), the region produces outstanding cool climate grapes with a wonderful depth of flavors and character despite its southern latitude, which is below the 50th parallel. The region typically experiences mean maximum air temperatures that range from 12°C in July to 22°C in February.
