THE CLIMATE
The Great Dividing Range's southernmost point is the Macedon Ranges wine region.The Camels Hump, which is 1100 meters above sea level and is part of the Great Dividing Range, is the Macedon Ranges' highest point.It is the coolest region on the Australian mainland due to its elevation and latitude, and harvest can last into May.
THE SOIL
Sandstone and shales make up the majority of the soil, creating the gentle, rounded hills punctuated by the steeper, higher granitic hills of the Cobaw ranges and the volcanic Mt. Macedon, Mt. Gisborne, and Mt. Bullengarook in the south.
